Fire Cupping
Fire cupping involves briefly introducing a flame inside a glass cup, typically by using a cotton ball soaked in alcohol. The heat removes oxygen from the cup, and when quickly placed on the skin, it creates a vacuum effect. This vacuum pulls the skin and superficial muscle layers into the cup, increasing blood flow to the area. Cupping marks, as they are referred to, will be on the skin for 3-7 days depending on the intensity of the suction.
